Piersland House Cleanliness FAQs - Our Piersland Promise to You

Yes. Piersland House has created training specifically on COVID-19 and related safety and sanitation protocols.

We have developed (working with our supplier, FLOW Hospitality Training) role-specific training for hotel teams with frequent guest contact including Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Public Areas and Hotel Operations.

All staff have to complete specific COVID-19 training modules and a health questionnaire before returning back to work.

We will continue to monitor the health of our staff. Staff will have their temperature checked before entering the workplace. Any staff member with symptoms or someone within their household that has symptoms will self-isolate in line with the WHO guidelines.

Piersland House is implementing social distancing guidelines in line with government advice, including signage, a physical partition at the front desk and floor markers to help guests maintain appropriate social distancing.

Guests are encouraged to check in on-line before arrival.

Yes. We are committed to monitoring the latest guidance from the CDC and WHO and are updating their protocols, and developing appropriate guidelines for the hotel which include everything from training on safety, sanitation and social distancing protocols to providing appropriate personal protective equipment where necessary and access to hand sanitizers while on property.

In the spaces where staff work "behind the scenes," the hotel is increasing the frequency of cleaning and focusing on high-touch areas like staff entrances, locker rooms and staff offices.

Piersland House has long had a reputation for high standards of hotel cleanliness with well-established cleaning processes and training in place.

On a regular basis, our hotel is working to adopt the latest guidance on hygiene and cleaning. Our hotels’ health and safety measures include everything from handwashing hygiene and cleaning product specifications to guest room and common area cleaning procedures.

The CDC (Centres for Disease Control and Prevention) and WHO (World Health Organization) warn about direct, person-to-person contact as the primary way COVID-19 is spread.

To help alleviate the risk of transmission this way, Piersland House added a full height partition at the front desk to provide an extra level of precaution for our guests and staff. Masks, gloves and aprons are available to staff where needed.

The hotel has installed additional hand sanitizing stations in high-traffic areas, including the entrance to the hotel, the entrance to each dining room and beside the front desk.

In addition, the hotel will be placing individual bottles of alcohol gel for guests to use in their guest rooms.

Furthermore, Piersland House are using signage in its public areas, hallways and dining areas to remind guests to maintain social distancing protocols (2 metres distance) and removing or re-arranging furniture to allow more space for distancing.

The situation is constantly being monitored and we are currently adhering to guidance from the local authority in Ayrshire.

Piersland House is currently helping guests’ distance from each other in our lobbies/public spaces through increased social distancing signage and removing excess furniture/seating to create more space.

In the dining room most tables have been placed 2 metres apart, some are set at 1+ metres apart with risk mitigation.

The situation will be monitored and controlled by our management team
