Covid-19: Our Commitment to Cleanliness

New Cleaning Technologies

Piersland House has invested in a Motorscrubber Storm with a ballistic sanitising sprayer lance that allows the effective and safe application of NHS strength disinfectant to all surfaces.

The ultra-fine spray of mist seeks out and coats hard to reach areas and surfaces that could be missed in standard cleaning processes.

Cleaning Regime Changes

When guests check into Piersland House over the next few months, they will notice a number of additions to the company's regime. Specific areas of focus include:

  • Surface Areas: in public spaces, the company has added to its already rigorous cleaning protocols, this requires that surfaces are treated with NHS strength disinfectants and that cleaning is done with increased frequency.

In guest rooms, Piersland has added to its detailed cleaning practices, requiring all surfaces to be thoroughly cleaned with NHS strength disinfectants.

The company will also be placing individual bottles of alcohol gel in each room for guests' personal use.

  • Guest Contact: Piersland House will be using signage in its public areas, corridors and hall ways to remind guests to maintain social distancing protocols (2 metres distance between our front of house team and guests) and are removing and re-arranging furniture to allow more space for distancing (particularly in the dining area's).

You will see more hand sanitizing stations around the hotel - near the entrance and front desk, and at the entrance of each dining room.

A number of touch points in your room have been removed, i.e. a guest directory link will be emailed pre stay as well as a check-in form, rather than the previous hard copy documents.

  • Food Safety: At Piersland House, food handlers and supervisors are trained on safe food preparation and service practices.

The company's food and beverage operations are required to conduct self-inspection using its food safety standards as guidelines.

Compliance is validated by outside independent auditors.

Food handlers are completing training modules specifically designed to enhance the response to safe operation in dealing with covid 19 including hygiene and disinfecting practises.
