The home of Sir Alexander Walker

Piersland House has been at the forefront of providing a warm welcome and hospitality for over 40 years.

Now known as Piersland House, the original Piersland Lodge was built as a private residence in 1899 by the renowned Scottish architect William Leiper. It was the home of Sir Alexander Walker, grandson of Johnnie Walker, founder of the internationally famous Scotch whisky firm, Johnnie Walker.

Sir Alexander was Managing Director of Johnnie Walker Whisky, he created Johnnie Walker Red and Black labels. Piersland House remained a family home until its conversion into a hotel in 1975.

The building retains its original country house character today including the unique features of wood carving, the grand staircase, large fireplaces and unique tapestry in the Walker Bar, as well a large range of whiskies including the Johnnie Walker collection.
