BACK TO NEWS

There’s just something about spring in Troon and across Ayrshire that lifts everyone’s mood as we leave the cosy fireside winter evenings indoors.

As many of you know, Spring doesn’t arrive with a bang in Scotland—it sort of sneaks in. One day you notice it’s still light at 7pm, the next there are daffodils everywhere, and before you know it people are sitting outside again and the beach is busier!

You’ve suddenly got time to head out for a walk after work, sit outside a bit longer, or just enjoy not having to rush back indoors.

There’s a real shift in atmosphere as people slow down a little and make the most of it.

The Beer Garden

We all know the feeling… that first day it’s warm enough to sit outside with a drink.

Whether it’s a glass of wine in the sun, a cold beer after a walk, or just a coffee outside instead of in—it feels like a bit of a moment.

But sometimes, we get the sun but not the heat, we have you covered so you can enjoy lunch with a view!

It’s relaxed, it’s easy, and it’s exactly what spring is all about.

Beach Walks all day long

A walk along the beach in Troon is one of the simplest pleasures of spring.

Early mornings are calm and quiet, with soft light over the water and plenty of space to take it all in, while by afternoon there’s a gentle buzz as people head out for fresh air, dogs in tow.

By early evening, the sun starts to settle—long shadows, sea air, and that end-of-day stillness that makes you want to linger just a little longer before heading back indoors.

Gardens at Piersland House

And of course, our favourite Spring/Summer activity – gardening! Our gardens truly flourish at this time of year.

It starts with the first daffodils appearing—bright, simple, and a sure sign the season has arrived—before gradually building into full colour with bedding plants, hanging baskets, and a mix of seasonal flowers that fill the space.

By early summer, it’s in full bloom, creating a relaxed, vibrant setting that makes sitting outside feel all the more special.

If you were looking for an excuse

There are plenty of reasons to visit us and visit Troon, whether it’s a long beach walk, a relaxing glass of wine, long lazy lunch or just a coffee, a bright and warm welcome awaits you!
